Anjo Caganda is a Senior Partner of the Firm. He specializes in Corporate Law, Tax Advisory, and Banking. He graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 1994, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1995. His practice is focused on business entity formation/ reorganization/ winding up, cross border transaction structuring, acquisitions and divestitures, debt financing arrangements, securities transactions, real property acquisition and conveyancing, and contracts.

Notable engagements of Anjo include:

1) Advised BPI in the negotiation process, documentation, and loan drawdown of an aggregate USD 240 million supplier-financing to finance the 5G technology upgrade of the Philippines’ largest telecommunications company, which transaction was completed within a span of a one-month period. The loan was secured by the following collaterals: accounts receivables of the telecommunications company, and corporate guaranty of Cisco Systems, Inc.’s wholly-owned offshore subsidiaries;

2) Acted as Philippine counsel for the corporate restructuring and subsequent public listing of two (2) company groups with the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd;

3) Acted as counsel for a project proponent pursuant to a public-private partnership arrangement by way of an unsolicited tender. The project proponent, which is the largest Philippine distributor of consumable food products, was awarded a multi-year contract by a government-controlled corporation to expand market share and increase sales of coconut-oil based products throughout the Philippines;

4) Successfully defended a professional architectural firm, engaged in the construction of “build-to-own” residential condominium projects, in a tax deficiency assessment for USD 24.6 million;
