Noticeable representations made by Atty. De La Fuente in the field of taxation include:
1) Representation of various multinational companies before the Court of Tax Appeals and the Bureau of Internal Revenue for tax credit and refund cases and cases for cancellation of tax assessment and advised various clients in tax audit process and tax compliance;
2) Representation of a publicly listed universal bank for the latter’s deficiency internal revenue taxes in the amount of USD 39,507,800.70, reducing the total amount of liability to USD 1,015,715.54;
3) Representation of an organized mutual benefit association on a 2017 deficiency tax assessment in the amount of approximately USD 20,000,000.00, reducing the total amount of liability to USD 1,375,500.00; and
4) Representation of a group of companies engaged in the amusement and gaming industry for their deficiency tax assessments in a combined amount of as much as USD 13,565,828.00, reducing the total amount of liability to a combined amount of USD 1,344,934.40
Atty. De La Fuente also advises various companies engaged in various business interests such as Banking, Gaming and Leisure, Insurance, Construction, Energy, and Water. He is also currently the corporate secretary of a publicly listed corporation, a Director of Bayanihan Bank (A Rural Bank) and teaches Tax at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law.
