Taxation and Corporate Law

Before she joined the firm, Kim primarily handled tax-related engagements including tax litigation, regular audit and closure assessments, refund applications, and tax exemption requests. She also provided tax consultancy and advisory services to retainer clients.

She represented corporate clients before the Court of Tax Appeals (“CTA”), and was able to help in the complete nullification of deficiency tax assessments ranging from USD 900 thousand to USD 10 Million. She also handled cases involving benchmarking as tax assessment basis which the CTA ruled as invalid.

Likewise, she helped in the cancellation of assessments issued to the contracting parties in a transaction which the CTA declared as tax-free exchange. The CTA’s decision in one of those cases was already affirmed by the Supreme Court.

During investigations conducted by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Kim assisted regular and large taxpayers in protesting the assessment issues and, consequently, in lowering their respective tax liabilities.

Kim obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree from San Beda College – Manila and ranked 9th in her class. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2014. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the De La Salle University – Manila, where she graduated magna cum laude and was a recipient of the Jose Rizal Honors Society award.
