Newly Elected as Independent Director for the period 2024 to 2027 Atty. Anjo Caganda of Gruba Law

The Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC) recently announced the election of Atty. Anjo Caganda, a distinguished Senior Partner at Gruba Law, to its Board of Directors. Atty. Caganda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to PEMC, enhancing its governance and operational oversight of the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).

Atty. Caganda has an impressive legal background, specializing in Corporate Law, Tax Advisory, and Banking. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 1994 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1995. His legal practice focuses on various critical areas, including business entity formation, reorganization, winding up, cross-border transaction structuring, acquisitions and divestitures, debt financing arrangements, securities transactions, real property acquisition and conveyancing, and contracts.

PEMC, a non-stock, non-profit organization, has been the autonomous group market operator and governing body of the WESM for over a decade. The corporation continues to govern the WESM through its Board of Directors and the WESM Governance Committees, ensuring the efficient and transparent operation of the electricity market in the Philippines.
